Running Year 3. I'm just as surprised.

I realized something when I posted this photo on Instagram: this was my third Condura Skyway race. I joined the 10-kilometer run in 2011 (my first running event, ever). Then, I joined the 21-kilometer race in 2012. Thus, my participation in the Condura Skyway Half-Marathon last February 3 marked the start of my third year as a runner.

Akalain niyo yun? Going on three years as a runner. Was never a varsity athlete of any sort when I was in school. Unless watching basketball games was a sport. I only ran during PE classes because it was required. Marami pa rin nagugulat when they learn that I run. Malamang dahil hindi naman ako mukhang athlete. Maybe it's also because they know how much I like eating burgers haha. The truth is, I'm just as surprised that I'm still into this.

I've done 10K runs and 21K runs. I've done 2 full-marathons. Wala na lang tanungan ng finish time haha. Bottom line, I was able to finish both na hindi ako nag-taxi. To be honest, I'm excited to train for my third 42K. I'm glad hindi pa ako sumusuko sa running and hindi pa sumusuko running sa akin. If there's one thing running has taught me, it's to appreciate the significance of the question "Kaya ba?" and to embrace the significance of the answer "Kaya pala." MH
